I hadn't caught all the lyrics until after Sioux Falls recorded the EP and I listened back. It resonated with me in a strange and very fitting way. When I joined Sioux Falls, I was 27, and Isaac and Fred were 19 and 20, respectively. When The Dirty Words formed, Mike Chastain was 29, and I and Joel were 18. Playing music over a generational gap is a fascinating practice. Upon learning the lyrics to 'Amoeba', I imagined that my older self was singing the song to my younger self. (Hence the two different drum tracks on my cover version.)
Below is the link to the Sioux Falls bandcamp. The EP I play drums on is called 'Big Krackel.'
